It was easy to make. I felt 100% comfortable with the ingredients and so happy that I was providing my daughter with wholesome nutrition. She gained weight. She THRIVED.
Eden was born with a severe tongue/lip tie (or simply put = major feeding issues) that 2 pediatrician’s said weren’t severe. As a first time mom I just kept going, but wondered why breastfeeding was so painful, why our daughter screamed all of the time (now I see she was hungry and suffering from severe silent acid reflux!) and wasn’t gaining weight. She was in the 6th percentile for weight for months. Finally after a visit with the right dental specialist, Eden’s ties were addressed and we needed to explore alternative formula. My supply wasn’t there and Eden truly drank from a bottle that much better. We wanted to do anything and everything to help her drink comfortably and grow with the best nutrition. We could see that cow’s milk in any capacity wasn’t sitting well with her. I am sensitive to it myself, so wasn’t surprised she would be also. After trying several hypoallergenic canned formula’s, I knew that we needed something else. They didn’t sit well with Eden (her reflux and colic were still an issue) and I didn’t feel comfortable feeding them to her. I knew breastmilk was best and felt so guilty I couldn’t give that to her 100%. Our amazing pediatric chiropractor that we found around this time suggested goats milk several times; I just wasn’t sure. Finally after all of the formula trials and researching Mt Capra thoroughly, something was telling me I had to try this recipe. I even printed off the recipe card and shared it with Eden’s pediatrician (3rd time was the charm!) who was completely supportive. Eden was about 4 months when we started her on Mt Capra’s infant goat milk formula. My only regret was wasting so much time and not finding it sooner! She LOVED the formula. It was easy to make. I felt 100% comfortable with the ingredients and so happy that I was providing my daughter with wholesome nutrition. She gained weight. She THRIVED. She was happier. Reflux meds were taken away. At her 12 month well child check, she was almost in the 50th percentile for weight. She has rolls on her thighs! We used Joe’s suggested chart/ratio’s for weaning off the formula and up to whole goat milk, which is what she drinks now at 14 months. She loves it! My husband and I truly feel so grateful that our chiropractor suggested goats milk and that I found Joe’s recipe. Thank you Mt Capra for EVERYTHING – we are lifers!
